Dr. Sanjeeb Roy

Born in family of professionals, father being in Government job, moved from places across the country. Had his primary education in Bihar and Rajasthan, followed by graduation and post graduation from Rajasthan and Post doctoral from UP. Has worked in Hyderabad in initial part of his career (1999-2006), before settling down in Jaipur in 2006.

Professional expertise

­Core practice involves complex coronary intervention, with keen interest for bifurcation lesions, chronic total occlusions, left main interventions, multi-vessel angiopl­asty and small vessel interventions. Does plaque modification when needed, with rotational atherectomy, Laser atherectomy (ELCA)  or Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) during angioplasty for tough and/or calcific lesion. One of the few experts using imaging studies like IVUS and OCT and to assess hemodynamic significance FFR study (or resting indices). The only cardiologist in this part of country trained for antegrade dissection and re-entry technique (ADR) and retrograde technique in totally occluded lesions (CTO).

Additional interest in non-coronary interventions of valves (mitral, aortic, pulmonary), aorta (EVAR) and birth defects (closures of septal defects),  LAA closure, septal ablation in HOCM, peripheral vascular interventions (including carotids/renals, ileofemoral and SFA) . Trained in atherectomy with eluting ballooning for SFA and PA lesions in peripheral interventions. 

Also involved in management of rhythm disorders with pacemaker and device implantation - AICD and for heart failure management with bi-ventricular devices (CRT). 

Keenly associated with special clinics like heart failure clinic (earlier at Fortis Jaipur and now at Manglamplus Medicity), PH clinic and Hypertensive clinic. 

Involved in various teaching assignments and proctorship programs for complex coronary interventions, bail-out strategies, imaging, physiological assessment and plaque modifications.

Operator in live case transmission of complex PCI at International and national platforms. 

Fellow of Collegium of International repute -  FACC (Fellow American College of Cardiology), FESC (Fellow European Society of Cardiology), FSCAI (Fellow Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention) and FAPSIC (Fellow Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology)
